Immersive technology is commonly recognised as the tool that will shape the future of a huge number of businesses and sectors. And no one is more immersed in this particular technology than Nathan.
Working partly for his own business and partly as the Head of Immersive Professional Services at SystemActive Digital, Nathan breaks down his job as "helping companies and schools to understand how they can use virtual and mixed reality technologies to educate, train, sell or improve or change their business processes".
Why do you do what you do?
It is the most bleeding-edge job anyone could possibly have at the moment, no-one knows how to do it yet, I get to define it. On top of this I get to use THE most exciting technology in the world to show clients how they can completely transform their businesses.
What do you think helps make you good at what you do?
I am pretty good at this because I have a passion for making people’s lives easier with clever solutions. I wish everyone knew that freely sharing good ideas and insights is one of the best ways to help humanity and that not sharing them for commercial gain is usually like putting fresh food in a safe.
What advice has most STRUCK you recently?
I read recently how ridiculous it was to say to new clients how much you would love to talk to them about some product you have. They really don’t care. Tell them you have solutions that will make specific things they do much easier or faster. Basically it’s not about you!
What are your plans or ambitions for the next 6 months?
My ambitions are to network as much as possible to help people find out more about immersive technologies in the workplace as well as find partners that can help us deliver our end-to-end solutions.
