Everything that Imraan does is focused around empowering women and stripping away the stereotypes that may hold them back or limit their horizons.
He is a director for Women of the Future Programme, which develops initiatives that celebrate female talent and unite a global community of women who can support each other and inspire the next generation. Imraan's work encompasses everything from driving nominations for the Programme's awards, through to designing events and conferences and sending ambassadors to schools where they can inspire students.
WHY DO YOU DO WHAT YOU DO?
To create real change and make a difference by recognising women for the incredible work they do and inspiring women to believe they can achieve in any industry no matter who they are or where they are from.
Each one of us has the power to be great and inspire others - I believe our Programme provides women with a platform to be the best they can be. It is such a privilege to be in a position to support and enable others to shine. That is why I do what I do.
WHAT'S ONE THING YOUR WORK HAS TAUGHT YOU THAT YOU WISH EVERYONE KNEW?
Work has taught me the importance of believing that no matter where they are from or who they are, each person has a capacity to be amazing. They just need to be given the opportunity to shine! We all have talents and it is just about understanding where we need to be and what we need to do to most effectively leverage them.
What book DO YOU MOST COMMONLY SHARE?
The book I enjoy reading and sharing is ‘Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff’ – it always reframes my perspective to ensure I am seeing the bigger picture and broadens my perceptual lens of vision.
What are your plans for the next 6 months?
We have plans to consolidate the growth in Southeast Asia and develop our Kindness Initiative as a model which can be globalised effectively.
